Day 2 Land Between the Lakes

After a successful night at Cracker Barrel, we headed for Kentucky. Before leaving TN, we passed the Bell Witch Cave. As legend goes, the spirit of Kate Batts, an unfriendly neighbor of John Bell (hmmm), who believed she was cheated by him in a land purchase, haunts a cave near the Bell Farm. President Andrew Jackson said that he “would rather face the entire British army then spend another night with the Bell Witch” after him and his troops spent the night at the Bell farm. Sounds intriguing! Will have to stop there on the way back home. We’ve decided to stay off of the interstate and major highways; this has produced some unique & beautiful scenery also encounters with turkeys & critters crossing our path, but well worth it to experience the journey instead of just the destination. Set up at a tranquil campsite right on the water in Energy Lake. Very few people in the campground on Sunday night. Experienced some storms overnight but they  just cooled things off. Tomorrow we explore the park.
