Long day of driving took us to our first Harvest Host, the Golden Fox Brewery in Decatur, IL. FYI - Harvest Host is a paid membership program where you can boondock camp at a network of wineries, breweries, museums, farms, distilleries & attractions. Only “requirement” is that you spend at least $20 at the establishment. Left lush, hilly, scenic Kentucky for Illinois. Illinois is FLAT dotted with farms, fields, small towns & an occasional oil well. The roads we traveled for the most part were…BAD. Surprisingly enough, the inside of the camper did not look like a busted piñata. Immediately upon arrival, we tasted their wares, Crimson Chaos Cider & Farmer’s Tassel American Light. Set up was level, simple, & secluded from the city. Saw a bunny then a coyote. Hopefully, they don’t meet. Sleeping weather will be in the low ‘50’s. Perfect! Five hours to John & Sara in Wisconsin tomorrow for 4 days of friendship & frivolity.
Heading back to the brewery!
