Day 30 July 6

Got some travel planning done this morning; John routed and I booked campsites for almost the whole trip home. Turning our direction back toward the east with Devil’s Tower as one of our destinations. Later, we drove over the Deception Pass Bridge again and headed to Anacortes for a Saturday Farmer’s Market and lunch. The line of cars to cross wanting to see the pass view was backed up for over a mile in the other direction. It’s 4th of July weekend and people are here and sight seeing. Bought some unusual local produce at the market like golden oyster mushrooms and purple winter sprouting broccoli. Afterwards, we found another outstanding seafood restaurant, “fisherman owned”, for a late lunch. My oyster burger was a different flavor from Florida oysters but still delicious and John had a tasty locally sourced salmon burger. Got the laundry done and some recharging of batteries for the next boon docking. Sad to be leaving the intriguing Whidbey Island but the adventure continues tomorrow as we head to North Cascades National Park and Perrygin Lake.
