When we were planning this trip, we had gathered about 10 suggestions for what to see and do in Coeur d’Alene. One “must do” was the Saturday Morning Market in Kootenai and, fortunately, today was Saturday. The market was packed and massive. We bought 2 boxes of home-grown mushrooms, fresh salsa and locally sourced cherries from Canadian seed trees. All scrumptious but the cherries were the richest, smoothest, tastiest I’ve ever eaten. If our refrigerator was bigger, we would have bought more wares. Went downtown again to go to the North Idaho Museum but it was closed and blocked off. Crowds were building. Walked to the marina which was ground zero for the Ironman 70.3 that takes place tomorrow. After dodging numerous bicyclists and runners, decided to forego the lake cruise, get out of downtown and just ride around the lake. Found a tiny Mexican restaurant for a savory lunch. Then back to the campground to get out of the craziness. Excited to stay at the Sandollar Alpaca and Great Pyrenees Farm tomorrow in Kennewick, WA.
