Started the morning playing keep away from a huge storm off the coast, but managed to outrun it. Idled down the Haulover River next. This is where manatees must come to vacation to get away from it all. You had to dodge them, they were so abundant, but so is the seagrass. With that much vegetation, you get quite a ripe odor. Didn't seem to bother the hordes of fishermen though. The manatees come right up to their boats if there is seagrass nearby. Passed our first lighthouse at Ponce Inlet. Storms came in off the ocean all day. Finally decided to drop anchor near Daytona Beach. Weather report says 10 - 15 knot winds all night - no a/c needed! Early night tonight since we have to be under the Memorial Bridge in Daytona before 7:45am. They won't open during peak rush hour traffic after that. Tomorrow St. Augustine and a couple days rest.
I know John said you guys will be in St. Augustine the middle of this week. However, if things change, and you end up being there at the end of the this week, let me know. Sue and I will head over and hang out with you. We can't get free during the week, but Fri. through Sun. we are good.
ReplyDeleteLove reading how you are doing, and seeing the pics!
