Day 17 and on mooring ball 17 in St. Augustine

Reached one of our goals today - St. Augustine! Got another early start to get under the Memorial Bridge then meandered the Halifax River, Tomoka River, and the Matanzas River. Each one was so different with a variety of housings and vegetation. Anybody that grew up in Florida must remember Marineland in the Daytona area. We passed it today. It closed and re-opened as a research facility and marina. Maybe we will stop in next time!  (3rd pic down) Ft. Matanzas is the little sister of the Castillo de San Marcos (fort) in St. Augustine. Only 2 boats were there visiting as opposed to the hundreds of visitors that were crawling around the Castillo. Just like any little sister, they get no respect! Our mooring is flanked by the tall ships to one direction and the fort to the other. Pretty cool. Will dink in later for some "land food", shopping and exploration. Mooring here for two nights.
