John and I don't think we have ever been in a friendlier town. This morning, we walked the streets visiting shops, restaurants, churches, mansions and museums. Met an amazing 85 year young docent at the Orange Hall Mansion Museum. The man who built the mansion was the first pastor of the little church across the street. I guess religion paid well back then. The stairs to the second floor were curved to steer the wind current upstairs to the bedrooms. Very cool tour. Estelle directed us to the Cumberland Museum which had a wealth of artifacts from the area and it was FREE. Crazy! At noon, I had a Blueberry Mojito - fresh blueberries and their juice, mint, cucumber and sweet white wine over ice - Lord, take me to heaven because I think I died happy. Later in the afternoon, we rode our bikes to the local grocery store for some needed supplies. Tonight I'm going to die, but not happy. The Winn Dixie was almost 8 miles round trip on our little Dahon folding bikes carrying groceries half the trip. Ya know, there are tests in life. You do these to figure out your limits, but also to find out what you are capable of. I found out I'm capable of maybe 6 miles. Oh well. Hooking up with our buddy, Gary, on Friday. Our first boat guest!
The blueberry mojito sounds wonderful! It would have probably been even more heavenly after that bicycle ride!
