Day 24 South Carolina

Another state under our belt! We said goodbye to Georgia and hello to South Carolina as we crossed the Savannah River behind a huge freighter. He definitely had the right of way. Before we left Savannah, we passed the graveyard made famous in the book and movie, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Hot day today, but we had a breeze most of the time. Saw lots of beautiful old Southern lodgings along the rivers - not massive monuments to the owner's wealth, but stately, pristine homes with character and age. Hilton Head area  is starting to get busy with summer visitors and boaters. Almost ran over an idiot jet skier who didn't grasp the concept that size DOES matter on the water. We learned that earlier in the day with the freighter! Paris Island was next which according to the water tower that's where "we make marines". Spending the night an hour north of Beaufort in an isolated anchorage at N32 degrees 32.236 m and W80 degrees 35.462 m. - watching the sun set over marshes and trees. Tomorrow Charleston area.
