Day 108 Rained in in Frankfort

Woke up to wind that turned into horizonal rain by noontime. Rough seas and storms kept us in Frankfort another day. There were even tornado warnings for counties to the east of us. Walked to the grocery store and barely got back in time to stay dry. A seawall lined with bolders runs along in front of the boats. Jack was exploring on the rocks and suddenly we hear this freakish high pitch chattering. Jack had gotten too close to a mink's home. They live and run around on the rocks here in the marina. The little guy's screaming didn't faze Jack, but we whisked him away because the mink was definitely upset with the intrusion.  Besides minks, there are also swans that swim around the basin and eat the tall grass that grows from the bottom. Wandered down to the beach after the storms passed. Frankfort has beautiful beaches on either side of the breakwaters. There were surfers, hand gliders, paddle boarders, and kite surfers along with your normal beach-going types. John and I strolled back by way of one of their idyllic residential streets admiring the quaint and beautiful homes. We even saw some leaves starting to turn colors and fall. Hung out with our marina buddies again till the cold drove us inside. Ready to take off for Ludington tomorrow after filling up the tanks. Diesel is finally somewhat reasonable at $3.87 a gallon as opposed to Canada's $5.25 plus. We hear the seas and winds are suppose to lie down tomorrow - hoping that's true.
