Day 122 Rainy Day in Joliet

First let me correct yesterday's blog - that was Day 121 not 131. The Weather Channel predicted rain and there was rain. So this was a good opportunity for us to kick back after yesterday's ordeal. Not much to do here so we worked on the boat till the afternoon. Sara and John from Free Bird suggested walking to a local Irish pub so we did. Then we decided if we couldn't be in the Tropics, we could drink tropical rum drinks, so we did. Made it an early night and tomorrow we attempt to get through the next two locks to our anchorage. The last lock was a 40' drop and our next one is 34'. The first pic is a huge barge going past the wall where we are docked. You don't feel any wake, just the pull of the water displacement. The second 2 pics are from yesterday's journey showing the "scenic views" of the river - definitely industrial.
