Day 113 Trapped in Grand Haven

It WAS really nice weather today as promised. The sun was shining, wasn't too cold, wasn't too hot; however, the waves were big  and mean and the wind was blowin' hard on the lake so we are spending one more day in Grand Haven. But it's not bad. This morning, we walked out to the breakwater and watched the start of the Anchorage Cup which is a sailboat race from here to Holland - about 40 boats participated.  While watching, we realized that we weren't going anyplace because of the seas. Some pleasure boats tried to venture out only to turn around and come back to port. Later we dinked over to town with Becky and Dell. You can see by the picture, they are "Jack approved". Shopped, ate dinner, walked along the waterfront, then afterwards John took us to his fabulous discovery - Pump House Frozen Yogurt Bar. You take a cup and fill it yourself with any of the 30 flavors of yogurt then you can pick from about 80 toppings. When you are done making your dessert masterpiece, you take it to the cashier and pay by the ounce. You can then go sit in one of their indoor swings and watch the Musical Fountain on the river or head to the bleachers. We did the later. Didn't rack up any more miles today, but we were privileged to see another performance of the Fountain. It is such an awesome feature of this hidden gem of a town - we could live here. Wait a minute - WE ARE. No, tomorrow, the seas are suppose to lay down - so we are told - so we are heading south.
