Day 85 Echo Bay
It was so peaceful when we anchored out last night, we just had to do it again. Weaved our way around many rocky islands heading west - our destination Echo Bay which is on Sansouci Island. We are near Frying Pan Island which is the home of the famous Henry's Restaurant. Everyone has told us that we HAVE to stop there for their family style fish dinner so we will HAVE to do that. We plan on hanging out in this national park till then. The last picture is the view out of our door - tranquility. The terrain here is similar to Stoney Lake and unlike anything we've ever seen in the U.S. Cabins are built right on boulders sticking out of the water. On the largest pieces of land, the evergreen trees are thick and lush, but they even grow straight out of the rocks on the smallest out-croppings far out into the lake. The weather is warm during the day, but crisp and cool at night - Canadian heaven. Today we successfully mastered "Med Mooring" where you anchor then hook a line from the stern to shore so you don't swing. Anchorage space is precious here so you try to take up as little room as possible. However, the most exciting thing that happened today was a phone call from Morgan and Kevin announcing they are engaged!! Woohoo! We are so happy for them - the two peas in a pod. I'm sure it's on Facebook by the time we find wifi and publish this blog. Tomorrow we will cast off in the dingy and explore this beautiful park.
