Day 86 A day of rest in Echo Bay

It was so good to wake up and not have to cast off for places unknown. The moon last night was like a communion wafer hovering above the forest and reflecting in the dark water. The picture does not do the scene justice, and by the way, this was taken at 9:30 at night - notice how light it still is. Twilight lasts forever up here.  After breakfast we took the dingy out and explored the coastline. Hiked a little ways in but it was a little too dense and the bugs were not welcoming. As we slowly dinked around the islands, we marveled at the majestic, smooth, cracked red granite, tall pines, maples, thick evergreens and flowers. But you have to look down, too, through the clear water  that conceals very tall stringy weeds and small boulders. Haven't seen a lot of wildlife except for geese, a few small fish, turtles, osprey, and some unfamiliar sea birds. Dinked 2 miles to the much mentioned Henry's for fish and chips. The amount of food they give you is abundant, but we were not impressed with the quality or the preparation. Hoping to get some tasty wall eye before we leave the area. Heard a front is moving through tomorrow night, Monday, so we are boating a short day to Parry Sound Marina where we will stay for 2 days till the weather clears. Good time to stock up on supplies, do some laundry and publish all my blogs since they have wifi.
