Day 89
OMG! What month is this?! It was August a couple days ago. Is it still August in other areas of the world because it sure as hell isn't August in Ontario. It's a wet, windy 55 degrees and going down to the 40's tonight. I don't think it was in the 40's in Florida all last winter. John and I walked to town for a birthday lunch ( Happy Birthday, John) and we almost froze to death walking home in the rain. You know those days in the winter when you come in from outside and just shake off the cold like a dog after a bath and you can't stop shaking because your gut feels like ice - well, that's what it feels like today. It's still August, right?! Not sure we are going to get away from the marina tomorrow if this weather doesn't break. If we do get away, we will be putting some miles between us and here and you may not get blogs for a while until we get into a marina again. So don't worry if the entries stop for a week or so - we have not died of hypothermia . . . hopefully - we are making a beeline for the US of A border. This weather made it abundantly clear that we need to be heading south by mid-September. Spent most of the day huddled in the boat praying that the weather forecast is going to change drastically. The first pic is the same view I published 2 days ago - it looks a bit more dismal, ay?? The second pic is of the marina - notice how the Ontario flag is standing straight out in the 20 knot wind. We shouldn't really complain because we've had excellent weather up until now....but we WILL because this is suppose to be AUGUST!

Look on the bright side at least the wind and cold keeps the flies and mosquitoes away.
