Day 87 Parry Sound
Ended up in Big Sound Marina - a small facility off of the Georgian Bay in Parry Sound. This is the world's deepest natural freshwater port. It was established in 1857 and named for the artic explorer, Sir William Edward Parry As you can see, this marina has wifi so I published all my "stored" blogs. Will stay here till Wednesday watching the weather. There were high wind warnings already this morning on NOAA and you don't want to be in open water with those conditions. The docks are surrounded by walls protecting us from what the bay produces. About every 15 minutes a small sea plane takes off, I've seen more in this area, especially here, than I've ever seen in my life. Headed into the quaint old town to find their Walmart and Shell for supplies and motor oil. Turned out to be over a 2 mile walk, so with that much stuff - we called a cab to get back. Best $12 we ever spent. John wanted a good ol' American hamburger tonight so that's what we're fixing. Battening down the hatches for bad weather. It's turning gray with 100% chance of storms, but it's good to know we are tied to a dock.
