Day 169 Bashi Anchorage

Woke up to 38 degree weather and made an executive decision to blow this taco stand. Heard over the radio that only 5 other boats were going through the lock so we became number 6. Second to the last lock of the Loop and again it was an easy 40' drop. The first picture is of the Demopolis Dam right beyond the lock. Was suppose to be very windy, but it's not too bad, the sun is bright and the sky is vivid blue. Of course, we are steering from down below. It's 59 inside the cabin, but we hear it's going to be 29 tonight. (For the umpteenth time, we bless Mary Lynn for making us buy fleece in Oswego.) Scenery is thick forest with a few shoaled in beaches near the bends. Passed the last of the white cliffs and are seeing a lot of erosion and trees falling into the river. The river twists back and forth, back and forth in this section and is shallow. Heard the tugs complaining on the radio about water depth. We need to do 72 miles to the only good anchorage on the lower portion of the TennTom - Black Warrior River, so it will be a long day. Cell and data service is sparce until we get to Mobile, so will do my best to post.
