Left our isolated, beautiful overnight stop at a very leasurely 10 am to shuffle down 14 miles to our new beach anchorage, Ft. McRee. Free bird lead the way in the Intercoastal taking us back to the Florida panhandle, a part of our home state that we haven't spent much time in. The coastal islands of white sandy beaches and sea oats were a welcome site. We temporarily anchored and dinked in to walk the Gulf beaches on the other side of the dunes. The weather and water were in the 70's - the sky was clear with steady sun. Perfect. I want to live here...WAIT - I do live here! As we arrived, the Pensacola Air Show started. We watched the planes perform some amazing stunts then the Blue Angels arrived. They flew in formation right over our heads. It as exhilarating. As we headed back to the ICW side of the beach, we encountered Estrellita. We all sat on the beach and watched the rest of the show. As it ended, tons of boats left the protected area where we wanted to move to to spend the night. Rafted with Free Bird and Stell and Burke dinked over. We all contributed to a delicious dinner then watched Sara and John's Packers beat "da Bears". A good first day and night back in Florida. Free Bird has company coming so they are leaving for a marina in the morning. It's so beautiful here, we are considering staying put another day.
