Day 143 Road trip to Eddyville

Was surprised by a big rain shower during the night. Looked at the radar this morning and scattered storms are expected all week. Where did this come from?! We hear there's some nasty weather crossing our path later. Seems colder today than yesterday because of the moisture in the air - like a Florida cold. John has been searching for oil for the next oil change and we finally scored, so took the courtesy van into Eddyville for a supply of Rotella. Small town America runs on a different schedule than we are use to - shops, eateries and generally everything closes on Monday. Passed through Grand Rivers, the nearest village, on the way home hoping to catch a show tonight and it is shut down tight. Fall is definitely in the air in Kentucky. The highway was lined with yellows, reds and oranges. So cool to see autumn emerging. I can see why transients to Florida miss the changing of the seasons. The marina does a great job of decorating for fall. John and Sara from Free Bird stopped by - they are staying at another marina and we'll catch up with them in a few days. John got a hair cut at the marina spa in the afternoon - quiet, uneventful day. Going to Barb's Sabre for docktails this evening then watching the skies for storms.
