Day 146 Heading out

Some kind of weather pattern is hanging around this area of the country so we woke to rain and a little hail this morning. After it cleared up, we left the safe confines of Green Tutle Bay intending on anchoring at Pisgah. We were surprised to see how much the leaves had turned along Lake Barkley in a week. Was heading down the canal that connects to Kentucky Lake and, lo and behold, we passed our good friends on Seawolf. We thought they had already stored their boat and were heading for Utah. Apparently not! They beckoned us to turn around, so we followed them to a scenic anchorage around the bend and rafted with them for the day and night. Spent the afternoon and evening catching up, getting to know their company, and eating delicious, unusual, Cincinnati chili. Deer came out on the shore at sunset. Heard gun shots from neighboring hunters - not sure what the game season is here. Made me a little nervous - probably made the deer more so. Only made it a couple miles from the marina, but whatever.  So glad we got the unexpected opportunity to hang with our Looper buddies, Cassie and Tom, before they head back home. Storms expected for tomorrow, but hoping to boat a few more miles inbetween rain drops and anchor in The Land Between the Lakes.
